Arthur Board of Education
Regular Meeting – August 10, 2011
The regular meeting of the Arthur Board of Education was called to order by President Scott Daily at 7:00 p.m. in the Unit Office with the following members and administrators present: Scott Daily, Steffanie Seegmiller, Doug Kitchen, Beth Wiley, Ed Miller, Monica Miller, Buck Condill, Gary Alexander and Travis Wilson. Linda Collins was absent.
Communications – None.
Public Comment
None.
Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Doug Kitchen, to approve the minutes of the July 13, 2011 meeting. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Beth Wiley, to approve the monthly bills as presented. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Motion was made by Doug Kitchen, seconded by Steffanie Seegmiller, to approve the monthly Treasurer’s Report as presented. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
2011-2012 District Budget – Superintendent Wilson discussed the tentative Budget and data information.
Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Ed Miller, to place the tentative Budget on file for public inspection and establishing the Budget hearing and adoption on September 14th at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.

Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Beth Wiley, to discard executive session tapes from July through December 2009. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Press Policy Issue No. 76 – Discussed press policy for approval next month.
Board Comment
Ø The facilities and grounds look nice
Ø The bench at the grade school, dedicated to Jason Ray is an attractive addition
Ø Open minded about Atwood’s initial reorganization proposal – mostly positive responses
Closed Session – Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Doug Kitchen, to go into closed session for the purpose of discussing employment of district personnel and negotiations. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Ed Miller, to return to open session. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Motion was made by Monica Miller, seconded by Doug Kitchen, to approve the minutes of the closed session meeting. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Motion was made by Steffanie Seegmiller, seconded by Monica Miller, to accept the resignation from Kenny Crossman as Junior High Boys Assistant Basketball Coach. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
